The MASTEP Collaborative is a five year systemic project to improve mathematics and science teacher education in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Funded primarily by a 5.5 million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation, MASTEP officially began on July 1, 1996. This Collaborative effort is a partnership between institutions of higher education, selected K-12 schools, participating industries, and many informal education institutions.
